PracƟcum Health Science II: HT4H8AY2 concurrent with HT4H9AY2

This CNA pracƟcum is designed to give students pracƟcal applicaƟon of knowledge and skills acquired during the first year of Health Science Technology. Students will experience hands‐on nursing care during their clinical rotaƟons at area nursing home faciliƟes. This course prepares students to become eligible to take the CerƟfied Nursing Assistant exam. The cost of this exam is $93.

Students must be at least 16 years old, have a minimum grade of an 85 or higher in Biology, an overall GPA average of 90%, and up‐to‐date immunizaƟons. Students, at their own expense, will be required to wear industry standard scrubs in assigned color, have a CPR cerƟficaƟon, a background check, and a drug screening prior to clinical rotaƟons. The overall cost to students is approximately $200. Students are also required to show a Social Security Card and a valid Texas ID in order to parƟcipate in CCTE designated clinical rotaƟons.
