Fashion Design

College and Career Readiness Plan (CCRP) Program of Study: (CCTE) Fashion Design

First Year: Advanced Fashion Design: HT3C4OY2

Year long course/1.0 credit per semester

This course introduces the student to the basic development of fashion. Students will be exposed to garment construction, sketching techniques, fabrics and textiles, fashion history, and fashion show production. This course will also focus on résumé and portfolio building. At the end of each semester, students will participate in the CCTE Fashion Show, wearing their own apparel and garments.

Second Year: Practicum Fashion Design 1: HT4C40Y2

Year long course/1.0 credit per semester

Students will be prepared for post secondary education and career choices related to the textile and apparel industry. Students will be expected to develop an advanced technical understanding of the business aspects of fashion. This course will focus on creating a fashion line of clothing, creating a brand and logo, entrepreneurship, fashion merchandising, marketing, and retailing. Second year students also participate in the CCTE Fashion Show at the end of each semester.
