Community and Student Engagement Campus Performance Rating Tool
PURPOSE::
- To evaluate community and student engagement
- To showcase where the campuses and districts are excelling and where there is room for improvement (Not all should be exemplary)
- To tell the story of what is happening on campuses and districts when it’s not a test day
- To give an opportunity to highlight community values, which are varied across the state and sometimes within a district
TEC§39.0545 Requires:
- Self-evaluation by districts and campuses on eight (8) community and student engagement factors and on one (1) policy compliance factor
- Self-assignment of a rating of exemplary, recognized, acceptable or unacceptable by each district and campus for each of the nine factors
- Self-assignment rating scale:
- Exemplary = 80% to 100%
- Recognized = 70% to 79%
- Acceptable = 60 to 69%
- Unacceptable = 59% and below
- Districts to submit ratings to TEA through the PEIMS submission on June 16, 2014 and make publicly available August 8 of each year (2013-14)
Campus Instructions
- Designate members of your campus self-report committee to complete the self-evaluation for each factor. Be sure to include at least one parent/community member. The size and composition of the committee is a campus decision.
- Self-Report committee members will review the standards on the provided worksheets and ensure the campus has the suggested, or other evidence to support any “yes” response to each standard for each Factor.
- The Self-Report Committee will submit their work to the campus principal.
- The campus principal, or principal designee, will electronically submit the committee’s response to each indicator for all nine factors.
- All nine factors must be electronically submitted no later than May 30, 2014.
- Ensure that all worksheets and evidence are available on campus for audit purposes
- Work sheets and electronic Factor Surveys are found on the menu at the top of the page named Evaluation of Community & Student Engagement. Select from the Elementary School, Middle School or High School drop down tabs to find your school's information. You may also select one of the the EPISD logos on the right side of the page tiled Elementarys School, Middle School or High School to find your school's information
- To submit for each Factor Survey click on the link titled Factors Survey and complete the survey

§61.1023. Community and Student Engagement

(a) In accordance with the Texas Education Code (TEC), §39.0545(a), each school district shall assign
performance ratings to the district and each campus for community and student engagement indicators
based on locally determined criteria.
